Elon Musk Proposes 15-Day Public Review for All Congressional Bills - Could It Change Washington Forever?

Elon Musk has never been shy about weighing in on politics, but his latest idea is sparking huge debate across the internet. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO suggested that all Congressional bills should be posted online for public review at least 15 days before lawmakers vote.

“People deserve to know what’s being voted on before it becomes law,” Musk said, arguing that transparency is the only way to hold politicians accountable.

And honestly? He might be onto something.

For years, Americans have watched as massive spending bills sometimes thousands of pages long get rushed through Congress overnight, with lawmakers admitting they don’t even have time to read them fully. The result? Hidden add-ons, wasteful spending, and loopholes that favor lobbyists over the people.

Musk’s proposal would flip that script by giving ordinary citizens, watchdogs, and journalists two full weeks to comb through the fine print. Supporters say it could finally shine a light on Washington’s backroom deals.

But critics argue it might slow down the legislative process and give misinformation campaigns room to twist the facts before votes are cast. Some also doubt Congress would ever willingly give up that much control.

Still, the idea has struck a nerve. On social media, thousands of Americans are already rallying behind the proposal, calling it “common sense” and “long overdue.”

In a political climate where trust in government is at historic lows, Musk’s push for radical transparency could be the kind of shake-up Washington doesn’t want but Americans desperately need.
